Nice work again. Really like the framing of the tree one, how it's off to the side at the bottom then takes over the top.

Was the colouring of the shed one intentional? I kinda like the purple colouring. Did you set the white balance to tungsten (probably labelled "interior mode" or something)?

For the shed I actually used a dusk/dawn mode. At about 4-5pm it gives the subject quite an errie feel. (Although that shed - a deserted long-drop in fact - is pretty errie regardless) There is a white balance function on Dad's digital camera but I'm not sure how to use it.

Ah. What that mode you used did was set your white balance to an innapropriate colour temperature, hence the interesting colour effect. Read up on "white balance" and "color temperature" (I say color cos it will probably get u more hits than colour ;))

At dusk/dawn the colour of sunlight moves from blue toward red. Your camera was trying to compensate for this colouring (ie redness) despite the fact it wasn't there, hence making your photo turn blueish.
