Going Sicilian
One of my FAQs is "Are you Italian?"
I don't blame people for asking. Here is my late paternal grandfather.
My maternal grandfather also looked Italian, but I don't have a picture of him on the PC.
When a young man asked me today "Are you Italian?", I should have said "No, but I can be if you want me to." Alas.

Why would you ever want to sell yourself short by conforming to the wishes of a foolish young man? Alas indeed!

He seriously looks like Goebells...

Interesting. People think I'm German or yeah, like you said, Scandinavian over here. It's crazy when people get all excited and talk to you in a language you've never heard before...
As for your gramps, I'd go for Italian, too.
My cousin Lesli always gets asked "where are you from", she's black and has a fro and all that. She takes great pleasure in saying "Hobart".
"No no, you look like you must be from africa"
